Dental braces for adults and children in Milan
Problems of malocclusion and tooth crowding can cause chewing disorders, back pain, neck pain and headaches. In addition, tooth clogging, as it causes difficulty in brushing teeth properly, can contribute to caries and gum inflammation. This alters both general oral health and the aesthetics of the smile, leading to limitations in social life.
Orthodontics, acting both functionally and aesthetically, serves to prevent and/or solve these problems and ensure healthy and, consequently, beautiful smiles for all. Therefore, in City Life Institute, orthodontic treatments are always customised, structured to solve the specific problems of each patient, and may include the use of fixed or mobile dental appliances, also of an aesthetic nature.
How the orthodontic examination takes place
To determine the most suitable course for each patient, we perform a specialist examination during which the clinician assesses the general condition of the mouth, the alignment of the arches and the health of the teeth.
Subsequently diagnostic tests with which, at the planning stage, we can establish the right course of treatment and the necessary timeframe to tackle it successfully.
What examinations to perform to initiate orthodontic therapy
- OPT
- 3D CT - CBCT
- Arch impressions with 3D scanner
- Digital photographs of face, mouth and teeth

Fear of the dentist?
We have inhalation conscious sedation
If the dentist's session creates anxiety and agitation in the patient, we can resort to inhalation conscious sedation: quick, non-invasive and suitable for all ages, it guarantees total relaxation in a few minutes while remaining alert at all times.
Orthodontic treatments for children and adults
Paediatric orthodontics
Paediatric orthodontics, or interceptive orthodontics, intervenes on jaw changes and spoiled habits in children, before these become chronic and bone growth is completed.
Apply functional appliances, palatal expanders and elastodontic bioactivators, allows the natural biological and muscular forces to be harnessed for the harmonious development of the facial arches and structures.
Corrective orthodontics
Corrective orthodontics is aimed at children and adults who have completed the skeletal growth of the jaws and the exchange of milk teeth.
The treatments correct dental misalignments and occlusal problems. They may involve the use of mobile or fixed dental appliances, welded with technique multibrackets or self-ligating, i.e. with self-bonding brackets that minimise friction forces thanks to an integrated mechanism that allows the bow to be attached directly to the binding.
Preprosthetic orthodontics
Pre-prosthetic orthodontics can serve, prior to dental rehabilitation, to correct displacements that may occur in the mouth in the absence of one or more teeth.
The treatment serves to ensure a correct arrangement of the natural dentition before inserting dental implants or bridges. It may involve the use of fixed or mobile dental appliances, even transparent, and in some cases, even guided eruptions of healthy root portions to which prosthetic crowns can be applied.
Transparent orthodontics
It is a more aesthetic and modern approach compared to classical orthodontic techniques. It involves the use of practical aligners that fit over the teeth in the form of templates.
Digitally designed by analysing the patient's 3D impressions, the transparent aligners make treatment completely predictable. Moreover, they do not alter the diction or aesthetics of the smile, bringing numerous benefits to the wearer's daily life.
