What orthodontic problems do clear aligners correct?
In addition to their undoubted aesthetic advantages, clear aligners are suitable for solving numerous orthodontic problems, as they act effectively on teeth and arches without causing pain.
They can be used as an exclusive or hybrid therapy, i.e. as a settlement following a phase conducted with fixed orthodontic appliances.
In particular, they act on:
- Open bite
- Deep bite
- Reverse bite
- Crossbite
- Distant teeth (diastemas)
- Crooked, crossed, misaligned teeth

From design to application
All stages of orthodontic treatment with clear aligners
3D diagnosis and design
The examination is used to assess the general condition of the mouth, the health of the teeth and X-rays: OPT and 3D CT scans can be performed immediately in the surgery. Then a digital scan of the dental arches is taken and photos of the face, mouth and teeth are taken.
The resulting images are then computer-processed to create the virtual reconstruction of what will be the smile at the end of the therapy: the result should be harmonious and natural, in line with the patient's facial morphology.
Delivery of the aligner set
The digital design also makes it possible to know how long it will take and how many masks will be needed to finish the therapy.
Each aligner, in fact, acts on the teeth gradually to determine their displacement. As the shape of the mouth changes, the aligner must be replaced.
At the start of treatment we provide the patient with aligners, the cleaning kit with instruments and all supporting indications during orthodontic treatment.
Timing of application
Orthodontic therapy with clear aligners can last between 12/24 months, depending on the complexity of the case to be treated and the constancy with which the doctor's prescriptions are followed.
For successful treatment, one must wearing masks at least 22 hours a day, only removing them for eating and brushing teeth.
They are replaced approximately every fortnight and the patient can do this independently, without going to the surgery.
